Why I've started a Youtube channel

I've just done something so simultaneously scary and exciting that I might actually throw up any second now. So, just a warning before you decide to move along with this post: by the end, it could be puke filled.

By now you've probably figured out that I'm pretty keen on putting my opinions on the internet. Not in a Katie Hopkins kind of way, but in "aw I really like talking to people that share similar beliefs to me" kind of way. It's not just a case of having the opportunity to be creative and to get a bit of catharsis (although, that's great too), I just really appreciate the conversation that online content creation allows for. This little space that I've built has taught me an overwhelming amount about myself and the world and it's also given me the chance to share lessons I've learned which hopefully help you.

It was over a cup of peppermint and licorice tea a few days that I was thinking about how much I adore my corner of the internet and decided to make that corner slightly bigger. Today, I posted my first ever YouTube video and I could not be more excited.

Whilst I am slightly terrified at the prospect of you actually being able to hear me speak (maybe this is when you find out that I have a super annoying voice or something), I'm excited that we're now able to open the conversation up even more. There are so many things that I've wanted to talk about for months but haven't felt like I'll be able to pin down into a blog post. Some thoughts just can't be tamed in that way. It's those thoughts that will likely make up the majority of my videos. So expect them to be super chilled, kind of rambly and even more unrestricted than the way I talk on my blog.

My first video is live now and is a chat about what I know, what I believe and why those are two very different things, specifically in regards to practicing self-care. I'm extremely proud of it (hey, look at me learning new things just like I promised) and I would love for you to give it a watch and join in the conversation.

Yay for new creative endeavors, ammirite?

  1. You are genuinely SUCH a natural in front of a camera. Such a pleasure to watch (and you don't have an annoying voice at all). I also love how frank, honest and raw this is. Really felt like you were just chatting to me.

Soooo excited to see more videos from you...♥ Good on you little lady!!
